Choose a lesson plan
Radiation safety training consists of five basic lesson plans (A, B, C, D, E). Choose the plan that is right for you.
Lesson Plan ‘A’
This is for individuals, not tour groups, who may enter a restricted area temporarily but whose daily duties do not require access to these areas. Personnel in this category require escorts at all times while in a restricted area.
Lesson Plan ‘B’
This is for all individuals who frequently work in a restricted area and require unescorted access. This lesson plan covers various radiological topics and highlights particular radiological controls for specific areas. A tour of each area where unescorted access is granted will be provided.
Lesson Plan ‘C’
This is for all individuals who, in addition to Lesson Plan ‘B’, require more in depth training of radiological topics. Equivalent training previously received will be considered, however all individuals requiring Lesson Plan ‘C’ must successfully pass the written exam.
Lesson Plan ‘D’
This is an annual review of radiological topics. This lesson plan is required to be completed by all personnel who are permitted unescorted access to any radiation or high radiation area.
Lesson Plan ‘E’
This if for non-MNRC staff personnel. This will allow unescorted access to all areas except for High Radiation Areas and the Reactor Room.
