Search for Funding
A number of external databases exist that provide information on funding opportunities, some of which are listed below.
Commerce Business Daily Access current notices of proposed government procurement actions, contract awards, and sales of government property. This service is offered through the Community of Science, which you must first create your expertise profile. http://cbd.cos.com/
Community of Science UC Davis Office of Research maintains a subscription to the Community of Science (COS). COS maintains a database of grants, fellowships, and other funding information from public and private, domestic and international sources. COS is also a leading Web site for scientists and scholars to find funding, to promote their research and collaborate with peers worldwide. Though the name refers to holdings on science funding, this service also offers a wealth of information on social sciences, humanities & community outreach funding. Each week, COS Humanities Funding News and COS Health Science Funding News provide a sampling of available funding in those disciplines.
COS enables scientists and scholars to communicate across a Web network of shared research, funding information and comprehensive science and technology data, facilitating "virtual communities" whereby scholars and scientist convene and collaborate via the Web. The Office of Research encourages all UC Davis affiliates to create their own COS expertise profile (utilize your ucdavis.edu affiliate email address). While COS is a tool used primarily by its members for advancing their research, individuals from .edu or equivalent Internet domains have free access to COS Expertise, the worldwide network of researcher profiles.

Federal Register Browse funding opportunities offered by the federal government. Two versions are accessible: a search interface maintained by the Community of Science and the federal version maintained by the National Archives and Records Administration.
GrantsNet Search for funding opportunities in biomedical research and science education. This site contains information on programs that offer training and research funding for graduate and medical students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty. Programs in science, math, engineering, and technology are available for undergraduate faculty and students.

National Science Foundation (NSF) Browse NSF funding opportunities, proposal submission guidelines, and policies. http://www.nsf.gov/funding/
Support for Teaching and Research. The 2002 edition of this guide is intended to help faculty and students identify campus teaching and research funding sources. You may either browse or search this online version.
If you know of other databases that should be added to this list, please e-mail our webmaster.
