Customize Your Funding Search

Creating your own funding searches is a great way to identify research funding opportunities relevant to your interests and needs. Pivot, Grants.gov and Philanthropy News Digest are extremely valuable search tools.

Visit our SharePoint site to see a schedule of common funding opportunities for UC Davis researchers.

Pivot is a great tool for finding funding opportunities and potential collaborators both within and external to UC Davis. Pivot allows individuals to create unique funding searches, choose to receive weekly emails based upon those searches, track relevant opportunities, and view curated lists in addition to creating a funding search based on the account holder’s profile. Create your profile today to receive the full benefits of Pivot at no charge to you!

Grants.gov includes all discretionary grants from federal grant-making agencies. You may find funding opportunities by creating a unique search or browsing by funding categories or agencies. Grants.gov also offers various subscription methods to receive notifications of new funding opportunities and other updates.

Philanthropy News Digest advertises requests for proposals (RFPs) from private entities.  You may view a list of RFPs, search by keywords, or browse by subject.  Additionally,  Philanthropy News Digest includes an option to sign up for RSS feeds or newsletters.  Contacting your school or college’s development officer is also a good way to learn about funding opportunities from private foundations and other philanthropic organizations.

Many sponsoring agencies have mechanisms for creating advanced searches directly at the agency’s website.
