Business & Finance

Business & Finance works in partnership with the UC Davis community including administrators, faculty, staff, research unit directors and managers to deliver financially sound and cost-effective business processes. Business & Finance is responsible for financial reporting & analysis, short and long-term budget planning, procurement, accounts payable, facilities, and other operational needs within the office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. The team provides oversight for the research units reporting to the Office of Research and administers the internal research funding program - Match Funds, PI Bridge and Publication Assistance programs.

The OR HR Team actively seeks to partner with the Research Unit Executive Directors, Associate Directors, managers, supervisors, staff, and the campus research community to provide efficient, customer-focused services that address requests, provide resolutions and assist our units with their day-to-day business activities. OR HR provides support for various HR areas from Compensation to FMLA. We foster relationship building with our faculty, staff and students in support of our organizational goals and the University’s mission of teaching, research, and public service. Institutional Review Board Administration

The IRB is an administrative body established to protect the rights and welfare of human subjects in research studies conducted under the auspices of UC Davis.
