Industry – University Workshop on Biophotonics Sensors and Systems
Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (PST)
Center for Biophotonics, Seminar Room
2700 Stockton Blvd., Suite 1400, Sacramento, CA
Biophotonics and its applications constitute an area of enormous scientific, clinical, and commercial opportunities. To pursue such opportunities, we need to catalyze formation of interdisciplinary teams and collaborations across the triple helix of academia – industry – government.
The goal of this workshop is to highlight research in biophotonics and to provide a forum for scientists from academia, national labs and industry to discuss their latest research, learn about common interests, and explore opportunities for collaborations and technology commercialization. The format for the day includes keynote speakers, research presentations, industry presentations and demos.
Theme areas and applications in:
- Biomedical Spectroscopy, Microscopy & Imaging
- Micro- and Nanoscale Sensing & Imaging
- Photonic Diagnostics & Therapeutics
Keynote speaker:
Robert J. Nordstrom, Ph.D.
Chief of the Imaging Guided Intervention Branch
Cancer Imaging Program
National Cancer Institute, NIH
