Identification Methods for Mice

**PLEASE NOTE: The Learning Management Systen (LMS), where trainings are housed, is set up for employees. Please email [email protected] to request access to the system.This 1 hour course is intended for all UC Davis staff, faculty and students who handle mice in the laboratory, in order to introduce researchers to available options for individual animal identification. The course describes methods available, some pros and cons of each type, and provides resources for purchasing identification methods. Course objectives include:

  • Providing information on the various methods of individual identification for mice.
  • Showing examples of each method so researchers can choose the method that will be most appropriate for their animals.
  • Providing a short list of suppliers and vendors who sell identification methods or provide identification as a service.

Note: The IACUC staff is available for training of these techniques.
