In December of 2012, UC Davis and the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) signed a Cooperation Agreement with the intent of developing scientific and technological collaborations through the funding of joint research projects. Over the past year, two research symposia have been held at UC Davis and in São Paulo covering a broad range of disciplines with widespread enthusiasm for further collaborative efforts.
As a result of these interactions, FAPESP and the UC Davis Office of Research are pleased to announce a call for joint research projects in the fields of science, engineering and medicine. Priority areas include food and agriculture, cancer and neuroscience, material science and engineering, fundamental physics of particles and matter, environmental science, energy and water.
FAPESP and UC Davis intend to select projects that demonstrate the best potential for lasting impact beyond the duration of the initial seed award (up to $40k over two years). Therefore, it is important to demonstrate clear expectations and plans to further advance a joint research project beyond the research activities fostered by this call.
