Organizational Update: Transition of Sponsored Programs Office Leadership Team
After serving 28 years at UC Davis, Ahmad Hakim-Elahi, executive director of the Sponsored Programs Office will be retiring effective June 28, 2024.
“Throughout his appointment at UC Davis, Ahmad exemplified dedication, hard work and a pursuit of excellence for our research enterprise,” said Simon Atkinson, vice chancellor for research. “Ahmad played a critical role supporting the tremendous growth in our research funding and respective infrastructure in the Office of Research.”
An event to celebrate Ahmad’s tenure and entry into retirement is planned for Friday, July 26.
While the recruitment for the executive director position is in process, an interim leadership team has been established as follows:
- Kelly Gilmore, Interim Director Sponsored Programs
- Alyssa Bunn, Interim Associate Director of Proposals
- Chris Dye-Hixenbaugh, Interim Associate Director of Proposals
- Bea Rans, Interim Associate Director of Awards & Subawards
- Brooke Curry, Interim Team Lead for Awards (effective July 1, 2024)
