Plant Variety Licensing Program

As a land-grant university, UC Davis has played a major role for more than 100 years in developing and managing many different plant commodities grown in California. The diversity of crops ranges across vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains, and forages. The application of plant breeding and training of breeders at UC Davis focuses on the unique and diverse California environment, allowing not only California, but the United States and in many cases the world, to enjoy fresh produce throughout the year. At Technology Transfer we are working together with these various breeding programs to advance and deploy UC-developed cultivars all to the benefit of California agriculture, and additionally into select national and international markets.
