Animal Care and Use 101 (ACU101) Course

**PLEASE NOTE: The Learning Management System (LMS), where the intial ACU101 trainings are housed, is set up for employees. If you are a student or visiting scholar, you must request access to the system before you can complete your training. Please email [email protected] to request access to the system.This 40-minute course is intended for all faculty, staff, and students (employees or volunteers) who are named on an Animal Use and Care Protocol, or who are exposed to live vertebrate animals, in order to ensure animal health and well-being. Course objectives include:

  • Understanding the animal care and use program
  • Describing inspections and the Occupational Health program
  • Discussing protocols, training, and reports

Intial training is good for three years at which time a retraining quiz will be required. Notification of re-training will be sent via email. The three year Retraining Quiz results are maintained on the IACUC database (not in the LMS).  You may access your ACU 101 training and Retraining Quiz completion dates from the IACUC/Investigator Menu page https://iacuc.ucdavis.edu/protocol/.  Click on the “Status Report- All Active Protocols” link at the bottom of the page.  Please do not hesitate to contact the IACUC Office ([email protected]/752-2364) if you have any questions.
