Eugene Sisman is the director of Research and Industry Sponsored Agreements (RAISA) in the UC Davis Office of Research where he leads a team dedicated to supporting the research enterprise through industry sponsored research agreements, material and data transfers and confidentiality agreements. Eugene brings a strong commitment to developing and maintaining sustainable best practices while creatively pursuing stakeholder alignment and advancing the university’s interests.

Prior to joining RAISA, Eugene spent twelve years at the Technology Transfer Office as an intellectual property officer and interim director. While there, he played an integral role in restructuring the office, improving practices, and establishing or expanding numerous successful university/industry relationships.

Before UC Davis, Eugene worked in functional genomics at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute and as either a patent agent or researcher at various biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in the San Diego area. He has a lifelong passion for science and is fortunate to have worked to support research in varying roles over his career.

Eugene has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UC San Diego and a Juris Doctorate from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, specializing in intellectual property.
