Sam Bishop-Green serves as chief of staff to the vice chancellor for research. In this role, Bishop-Green champions strategic planning, develops and manages a portfolio of key initiatives and oversees communications for the Office of Research.

Bishop-Green brings a background anchored in higher education with over ten years of experience at UC Davis in various roles and a progression of responsibilities and impact. He currently serves as the chief of staff for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, a position he has held since 2021. Prior to this role, he served as assistant director for UC Davis’ Preferred Partnership Program, associate director of Admission for the Graduate School of Management and special projects manager for UC Davis Intercollegiate Athletics.

A believer in lifelong learning and continued professional development, Bishop-Green earned an M.B.A. and B.A., both from UC Davis.  He was selected for the UC-Coro Systemwide Leadership Collaborative 2022 Cohort and recently completed a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification program.
