UC Davis InnovationAccess provides services that connect research to the marketplace, with a focus on protecting and commercializing intellectual property and fostering entrepreneurship within the campus community. Specifically, it evaluates and patents inventions from UC Davis faculty, researchers, and staff, and licenses for commercialization in the private sector in order to benefit the public. The team comprises professionals with PhDs, JDs, and MBAs with significant university and private sector experience.

The Interdisciplinary Research Support (IRS) unit of the Office of Research assists faculty in preparing grant proposals for complex, interdisciplinary research programs. The IRS staff provide editorial coordination, editing, and grant budget preparation support.

The Office of Corporate Relations plans and engages in corporate partnerships to support the mission of the university. Our unit develops, fosters and manages strategic relationships with industry in a comprehensive manner that spans multiple interests across academic disciplines. By working closely with faculty, staff and campus leadership, we are able to build comprehensive relationships that provide mutual benefit to the university and industry partners.

The Strategic Initiatives unit elevates the visibility of the campus's research strengths and capabilities in the areas of energy,environment, life and health sciences research through funding agency advocacy, issue management and liaison with community and campus constituents, and develops and implements strategies to promote UC Davis's comparative advantage in securing research funding, especially from federal and state governmental and private entities.
