Post-Proposal Actions (such as JIT)

Post-proposal actions:

    • Inform the Sponsored Programs Office (SPO) that a proposal was not funded
    • Change a primary administrative contact (see below)
    • Respond to Just-in-Time (JIT) requests from a sponsor (see further below)
    • Request an Advance Account (Pre-Award Spending)
    • Any other actions occurring after submitting a proposal to a sponsor but before the proposal is awarded.

Change a primary administrative contact

The PI or administrative unit may request the primary administrative contact be changed in Cayuse SP by emailing [email protected].

    • This action can change the primary administrative contact for:
      • All proposals, awards and subawards within an administrative unit, or
      • All proposals, awards and subawards assigned to a specific PI.

Just-In-Time Requests

For programs and award mechanisms they specify, some sponsors allow the submission of certain elements of a competing application to be deferred until after the submission deadline. Commonly called Just-in-Time (JIT) requests, these elements are to be submitted when requested by the sponsor. JIT requests may include:

The sponsor will notify the Principal Investigator (PI), department administrator or SPO if a JIT submission is required.

    1. When the PI receives the JIT request, forward it immediately to [email protected].
      • Reference the associated Cayuse SP proposal number in the email. A SPO proposals analyst will be assigned to assist you.
    2. If access to a sponsor’s submission or grant management system is required and not yet provided to the SPO analyst, the PI/department administrator should provide SPO access.
    3. Once the PI/department administrator has prepared the requested JIT submission, forward it to the assigned SPO analyst for review.
    4. When the JIT is approved and ready for submission, SPO will submit it to the sponsor on behalf of the PI and the institution.
