Request an Account

Stratocore PPMS is a management software system utilized in many facilities across UC Davis. Stratocore PPMS is used to reserve instruments, request training, request services, and manage the financial accounts for payment of facility charges.
Stratocore PPMS can be used by both internal UCD customers and external customers at other universities, non-profit agencies, and businesses.
Each customer or researcher (faculty, staff, or student) will need to request an account in Stratocore PPMS. Existing accounts created for one facility using Stratocore PPMS are valid at all other facilities using Stratocore PPMS.

UC Davis Users:

  1. Go to the Stratocore PPMS start page: https://ppms.us/ucdavis/start
  2. Select the facility of interest under “Facilities available in UC Davis:
  3. Below the log in boxes, select the bulleted link for “user account creation request”
  4. At the PPMS user account creation form, select the “Your institution is UC Davis” option
    You will be redirected to the UC Davis log-in screen (if you are not already signed in to a UCD application)
    Log in using your UC Davis Kerberos (CAS) credentials
    You will be returned to the PPMS form with expanded questions
  5. Enter your personal details on the PPMS user account creation form:
    First Name, Last Name, Phone, UC Davis Email
  6. Click in the text box below Financial Account Number
    Select the option for Chart of Account (COA) or Project Portfolio Management (POET) account dependent on the account type provided by your PI, lab manager, or finance administrator
    Begin typing your account into the search an account… text box. Previously validated numbers will appear in a drop down as you begin typing. Select the account and click Save
    If the account number is not found, select Create a new account to the right of the text box. Enter details separately as indicated and click Save
  7. Choose the role that most appropriately describes you under User Category:
    • Investigator
    • Lab Manager
    • Lab Personnel (Staff/Student)
  8. Group
    Choose your lab group by typing your Principal Investigator’s last name in the filter box, directly in the drop down, or by scrolling through the list of established groups sorted by department.
    If your lab group is not found, select the option My Group is NOT in the list and complete the required fields:

    • Group name = PI Last Name, PI First name
    • Group director or PI = PI Last Name, PI First name
    • Group director or PI email = PI email (UC Davis email)
    • Group administrator/financial contact fields = person who manages the financial accounts and grants for the PI
  9. Submit form and await an email verification of your PPMS account.
    Approval can take a few business days as information will be reviewed manually by a facility administrator.

 

External Users:

  1. Go to the Stratocore PPMS start page: https://ppms.us/ucdavis/start
  2. Select the facility of interest under “Facilities available in UC Davis:
  3. Below the log in boxes, select the bulleted link for “user account creation request”
  4. At the PPMS user account creation form, select the “Your institution is NOT UC Davis” option
  5. Enter your personal details on the PPMS user account creation form:
    First name, Last name, Phone, Email
  6. Click in the text box below Financial Account Number
    External UCs: select your UC from the list. Begin typing your account into the search an account… text box.
    Previously validated numbers will appear in a drop down as you begin typing. Select the account and click Save
    If the account number is not found, select Create a new account to the right of the text box. Enter details separately as indicated and click Save
    External Non-Profit & For-Profit: (optional) select the option for Revenue Agreement or Purchase Order. Begin typing your account into the search an account… text box.
    Previously validated numbers will appear in a drop down as you begin typing. Select the account and click Save
    If the account number is not found, select Create a new account to the right of the text box. Enter details separately as indicated and click Save
  7. Choose the role that most appropriately describes you under User Category:
    • Investigator
    • Lab Manager
    • Lab Personnel (Staff/Student)
  8. Group
    Choose your lab group by typing your Principal Investigator’s last name in the filter box, directly in the drop down, or by scrolling through the list of established groups sorted by institution. If your lab group is not found, select the option My Group is NOT in the list and complete the required fields:

    • Group name = PI Last Name, PI First name
    • Group director or PI = PI Last Name, PI First name
    • Group director or PI email = PI email
    • Group administrator/financial contact fields = person who manages the financial accounts and grants for the PI or company
    • Accounts payable email (if different than financial contact email)
    • Affiliation (Ext-UC, Ext-NP, Ext-FP)
    • Institution
      • If your institution is not in the list, input your institution name directly in the text box
    • Invoicing Address
  9. Submit form and await an email verification of your PPMS account.
