Research Administration Workshops

- Submitting Multi-Component Applications to the NIH – Thursday, June 11, 2026, 1 – 3 PM
A multi-component application is a single submission with multiple, interrelated components – each with their own budgets – that share a common focus or objective. This workshop will cover how to determine the required elements of a multi-component application, how to create a multi-component application in either Cayuse 424 or NIH ASSIST, and where to find tools to aid in preparing and submitting multi-component applications to NIH.

- Cost-Sharing and Effort in Proposals
This workshop covers:- Cost-sharing and effort definitions and requirements
- How to apply cost-sharing by sponsor type
- How to calculate effort in a budget
- How to enter cost-sharing and effort into Cayuse SP and Cayuse 424
- Populating External Budgets
This workshop facilitates the translation of internal budgets (OR Budget Templates) into standard proposal submission forms as well as into Excel templates required by some sponsors.
- Preparing a Cost Proposal Budget
Some funding opportunity announcements request two proposals: A technical proposal on project details and a separate cost proposal on finances. This workshop provides guidance on cost proposal preparation. - Submitting NSF Proposals in Research.gov
This workshop covers the preparation of NSF proposals in Research.gov.
