Rat Handling Video and Quiz

The Learning Management System (LMS), where trainings are housed, is set up for employees. If you are a student or visiting scholar, you must request access to the system before you can complete your training. Please email [email protected] to request access to the system.

This 45 minute course covers practical handling, restraint, gavage, injection, and blood collection techniques commonly used with laboratory rats. Participants are encouraged to be familiar with the IACUC protocol they will be working under. Course objectives include:

• Identifying proper handling techniques for the rat.
• Understanding proper laboratory behavior while handling rats.
• Identifying the proper PPE that should be worn while working with rats.
